Kleos takes the privacy of your personal stories seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
Account information: Your name, email address, and password (hashed and stored securely by Supabase Auth).
Memoir content: The stories, memories, and personal information you type or speak into the app. This includes raw text input, AI-generated chapter output, dedication text, and family tree information.
Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVC, or full card details on our servers. We only store a reference to your Stripe transaction.
Usage data: Basic analytics such as pages visited and features used, collected to improve the service.
To provide the service: Your text and voice inputs are sent to Anthropic's Claude API solely to generate your memoir chapters. This is the core function of the product.
To process payments: Your payment information is handled by Stripe to complete purchases.
To improve the service: We may analyze anonymized, aggregated usage patterns (never individual stories) to improve features.
We do NOT: Sell your personal data to third parties. Use your memoir content to train AI models. Share your stories with advertisers. Read your memoir content unless you request support assistance.
When you generate a chapter, your text input is sent to Anthropic's Claude API via a secure HTTPS connection. Anthropic's API usage policy states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models. We do not store voice recordings. Voice input is transcribed in your browser using the Web Speech API and only the resulting text is saved and sent for processing.
Your data is stored on Supabase, which provides encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL). Database access is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies, meaning only you can access your memoirs. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All connections to our service are encrypted via HTTPS.
If you generate a shareable link for your memoir, anyone with that link can read the memoir. You can disable sharing at any time. Shareable links do not expose your account information, only the memoir content.
Access: You can view all your memoir data at any time through the app.
Edit: You can edit or modify any chapter at any time.
Delete: You can delete individual chapters or entire memoirs at any time. Deleted data is permanently removed.
Account deletion: You can request full account deletion by contacting us. All associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
Data export: Paid users can download their complete memoir as a PDF at any time.
We use the following third-party services:
Supabase: Database and authentication (supabase.com)
Anthropic: AI text generation via Claude API (anthropic.com)
Stripe: Payment processing (stripe.com)
Vercel: Web hosting (vercel.com)
Each of these services has their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
Kleos is not intended for use by children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. The service is designed for adults creating memoirs for or with their family members.
Your memoir data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete a memoir, the data is permanently removed immediately. If you delete your account, all data is permanently removed within 30 days. Payment records may be retained for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance, as required by law.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or through the app. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
